Beacon Baptist Church - A Home for your Family

The Music ministry of Beacon Baptist Church exists to complement the mission of our church. We desire to present heart-warming, spirit-filled music at each service. We commit to rehearse adequately to appropriately confirm our commitment to excellence for the cause of Christ. We invite anyone of similar commitment to join our group. We operate with the following objectives in place.

To evangelize the lost
"And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God; and many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord." Psalm 40:3
To provide spiritually uplifting, musical experiences in congregational services
"Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord." Ephesians 5:19
To glorify God through singing
"O Come, let us sing unto the Lord: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation." Psalm 95:1
To be representatives of Christ and His church
"Now then we are ambassadors for Christ..." I Corinthians 5:20a
To develop musical skills, attitudes, and understandings
"Let all things be done decently and in order." I Corinthians 14:40

Ways to serve the Lord with music at Beacon Baptist Church

1. Beacon Church Choir - Directed by John Williams

This is our adult choir. We accept membership from college age and above.

Rehearsals are every Sunday at 10:20A.M., and 5:00-6:15 P.M. in Room 500.3.

You must be at three 5:00-6:15P.M. rehearsals before singing in a service.

2. Beacon Church Orchestra - Directed by Yoshio Nakamura

The orchestra accepts membership from 7th grade through adults.

Placement and participation in the group is determined by the Director based on each musician’s ability.

Rehearsals are Sundays from 8:55 – 9:10 A.M., and 5:00-6:15 P.M.in the Auditorium

3. Hallelujah Ringers - Directed by David Lilly

This is our hand bell group.

Membership is open for 7th grade through adults.

Rehearsal time and location are set weekly.

Special Music Opportunities

From the choir/orchestra/handbells membership, weselect people that provide our special music for church services or special church functions.

Auditions are done with the Music Director for abilities to be best utilized.

Specials may come in the form of a variety of individuals or groups that are vocal or instrumental such as: Solos, Duets, Trios, Quartets, and Ensembles.

Nurseries are provided during Choir/Orchestra rehearsals for children from birth to fifth grade when both parents are involved in the rehearsal time. This could also be an area that you could possibly serve the Lord. See the Nursery Director for further information.

Music Groups for Teens - Young Believers Choir - Grades 6-12

Rehearsals are on Wednesdays from6:00-6:45P.M. in room 500

Music Groups for Children

Space Cubs- Ages 3-5 - They meet every Wednesday night in rooms 121 and 108 for Bible Lessons, Fun Time and Singing.

Patch the Pirate- Grades 1-3 - They meet every Wednesday in room 107.

Patch the Pirate- Grades 4-5 - They meet every Wednesday in room 300.

Space Cubs(Ages 3-5) Wednesdays- 7:00 P.M. Rooms 108, 119, 121
